My friend Sandra Hesketh Howerton was arrested this week for peacefully protesting during Moral Monday, a grass roots movement that is protesting outrageous budget cuts and attacks on democracy in North Carolina. Sandra is 71, a widow, and in poor health but she is concerned enough about the activities in her state to get up and take a public stand about this.
